The NC Japan Center is accepting registrations for non-credit summer Japanese language classes. Youth (middle and high school students) and adult courses are offered.
Click on the individual classes to register for that specific class.
All classes require pre-registration. Class size is limited. Once class size is full, registrations will no longer be accepted. Any course without sufficient enrollment may be cancelled. All students must pre-register, regardless of level. New students must take a placement test prior to registering. Please email Yoshimi Aoyagi for placement information.
All classes run for 15 weeks, meeting one night per week.
Youth Beginning I: Thursdays, August 21 - December 4, 2008 (15 weeks except for November 27th), 5:00 – 6:30 pm. This class is for those who've never studied Japanese or those who took Youth Summer Introduction Book Camp. There will be no make-up day for this class. $129
Youth Beginning III: Tuesdays, August 19 - November 25, 2008 (15 weeks), 4:30 – 6:00 pm. This class is for those who took Youth I-II (mastered "Kodomo no Nihon-go 1", L1-4, and who know Hiragana and Katakana). New students will take a placement test with the instructor. There will be no make-up day for this class. $129
Youth Intermediate II: Mondays, August 18 - December 1, 2008 (15 weeks except for November 27th), 4:30 – 6:30 pm. This class is for those who took Youth I-IV (mastered "Kodomo no Nihon-go 1 and "Genki I L1-6 and who know Hiragana and Katakana and Kanji). New students will take a placement test with the instructor. There will be no make-up day for this class. $159
Adult Beginning I: Tuesdays, August 19 - November 25, 2008 (15 weeks), 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Basic Japanese language: speaking, listening & writing Hiragana. There will be no make-up day for this class. $159
Adult Beginning III: Thursdays, August 21 - December 4, 2008 (15 weeks except for November 27th), 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Basic Japanese language: listening, speaking, writing Hiragana and reading Hiragana. There will be no make-up day for this class. $159
Adult Intermediate VI: Mondays, August 18 - December 1, 2008 (15 weeks except for September 1st), 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Basic Japanese language: listening, speaking, writing Hiragana and reading Hiragana. There will be no make-up day for this class. $159
Adult Advanced: Thursdays, August 21 - December 4, 2008 (15 weeks except for November 27th), 7:00 - 9:00 pm. This class focuses on developing grammar, vocabulary, characters, listening skills and speaking skills. Those who are preparing for the JLPT Level 2 are recommended to take this class. There will be no make-up day for this class. $159
