2008 Award for Excellence
Ann Hargis receiving Award for Excellence
Ann Hargis, Manager of the Accounting and Financial Office within the McKimmon Center for Extension and Continuing Education (MCE&CE), is the 2008 Awards for Excellence recipient for the Office of Extension, Engagement and Economic Development.
She has been an employee of MCE&CE for twelve years serving our organization in the Accounting and Financial Office. Ann manages a staff of five on a daily basis, providing accounting and financial services to the six units of MCE&CE, the unit directors and employees. Prior to coming to MCE&CE, Ann worked in the University Accounting Office for four years.
With a broad range of responsibilities, Ann is very diligent with her daily work load. She juggles a lot of tasks at one time; however, she maintains a level of thoroughness and accuracy that is exceptional. Her gentle nature lends itself well to the many challenges facing the units of MCE&CE as well as the employees, the campus partners, and the general public.

This award is presented in recognition of a SEANC member's accomplishments during the current SEANC year. Nominees are those whose service and dedication influenced SEANC’s success or position on an issue.
Wanda has been very active in District 39 this year, serving as Membership Chairperson, Insurance Chairperson, SEANC delegate and Awards Co-chairperson (the committee met without her this year). She is always one of the first to arrive and the last to leave at district membership appreciation/recruitment events. She helped collect and deliver more than 600 teddy bears from district members for children in local hospitals, and frequently has her camera ready to photograph a SEANC activity.
Wanda is a fixture at our District Employee Appreciation Events and with our booth at NCSU Employee Appreciation Day. She attends as many SEANC and district functions as she can, including the Legislative Dinner, MAT Lobby Day and MAT training. She has been extremely helpful with the district Communications committee, coordinating the on-campus/off-campus address lists. She is always ready to help with our "labeling parties" and has even taken newsletters home to label and stamp.
